School Uniform   Breakfast Club
At Braunstone Community Primary School
we have a school uniform.
We try to keep the costs to a minimum
and encourage a feeling of pride in our appearance
and this is enhanced by wearing the correct uniform. Please support the school with this and make sure your child| has school uniform on every day.

Uniform can be purchased at any time
throughout the school year from the school office.

Our Uniform consists of :

White polo shirt – available from school with logo
alternatively a plain white polo can be worn.

School jumper or fleece
with logo – only available from school.

Light grey trousers or skirt
not available from school.

Light blue checked dress
not available from school.

P.E. Kit
Dark blue shorts – available from school
White t-shirt – available from school with logo
alternatively a plain white t-shirt can be worn

Breakfast

No charge for pupils

Breakfast Club is held each school morning,
in the Hall

 8.20am – 8.40am

Each pupil can select a bowl of cereal, a slice of buttered toast and a cup of squash – at no charge
(there is a minimal charge for additional items)

Parents and other family members are welcome
to eat with their child at a minimal charge.

Morning Part-time Nursery, Classes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 children should be accompanied by an adult.

Classes 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 can come in unaccompanied, but must be responsible and able to walk
from the Hall to the playground themselves.

As well as ensuring your child has a good start to their day
by eating breakfast, coming to the Breakfast Club also means
that your child is at school ready and on time
for the start of school.

If you have not already tried our Breakfast Club
come along, there is no obligation to attend everyday.

Hope to see you in the morning!

Attendance Awareness Campaign
‘be at school everyday and on time’

Early attenders enjoy an obstacle course!
Earrings in PE

It has been noted that several children
are wearing ear-rings to school.
If your child must wear ear-rings please ensure
they are the stud type and not the drop/hoop style.
On the days which they do P.E, as a Health and Safety issue,
we must ask that all children remove their ear-rings
before coming to school, and any other jewellery.
Newly pierced ears (maximum of 6 weeks) can be worn,
providing your child brings suitable tape to cover them.

Your support in this matter is greatly appreciated,
as we need to ensure the safety of all our children.
Attendance School Dinners and Milk

Children should be in the school playground
for when the whistle is blown for

Classes 4 - 13 at 8.45am
Classes 1 – 3 at 8.50am

to take the children into school.

Late arrivals cause disruption to the class
and beginning of your child’s day.
Please ensure that you make arrangements for you child to arrive at school on time.

Medical Appointments

If it is necessary to have a medical appointment during school hours please try to arrange it so that your child is absent for only part of the morning or afternoon.
We will also require a photocopy of an appointment card in order to record the absence as medical.
Routine dental and doctor appointments should
where possible be made after school.

Reporting an Absence

In order to record your child’s absence correctly,
we would ask that if it is necessary for you to keep your child off from school that you advise the school by :

Ringing the school office on the first day of absence –
0116 2858130
or
On the first day of return send a dated letter
explaining the absence

or
Speak directly to your child’s Teacher or the Office

If we receive no communication from you, we are legally required to record a mark of unauthorised absence;
this could result in the Education Welfare Officer
being contacted.
We are not able to accept an explanation of absence from your child.

Please help us
to record your child’s absence accurately.
